What it all comes down to is giving your potential customers the feeling that you aren't just there to sell them something, and that if they do choose to buy from you, they would be working with another person, not a computer. Be careful not to seem aloof in your attempts. You can damage your reputation on Twitter permanently by making that mistake. Always remember that Twitter is a social destination, and should always be treated as such. Interact with other Twitterers here, connect with them and talk without having a promotional tone. Show real compassion and real concern whenever they have a problem or issue and try to help to resolve those issues when possible. Your best marketing can be done on Twitter by instead serving others.
